D23: Room 1-14 The Temple of the Leaping Oracle; Southeastern Parapet

I have put some thought into pacing my dungeon. I am assuming the party will come fairly close to leveling on each level. I aim to put about 1000 XP on each floor in encounters and hazards. I'm on pace to be over budget on this floor, but that's okay; I guess I shouldn't assume parties will clear every room.

Southeast Parapet    Moderate

The four parapets of this level form the defensive focus of the Green-Eyed Prophecy. The bulk of their guard force are positioned in the fortified structues

Design

A narrow ledge runs along the north and west walls, and a winding stair in the Southeast corner of the room leads to a crenelated roof the Upach Cultists have been using as a lookout. Various insect shells are scattered throughout the room

Entries

North Entry    (Secret)

(DC 10 to find) Strong Coral Panel (Hardness 15; 30 hp) The Panel is concealed behind a relief of a Squidand opened by pulling down an outstretched Tenticle

South Stairwell

a winding stair in the Southeast corner of the room leads to a crenelated roof the Upach Cultists have been using as a lookout.

South Entry    (Secret)

(DC 10 to find) Strong Coral Panel (Hardness 15; 30 hp) The Panel is concealed behind a mosaic of a fishing village in a marsh and opened by pushing the panel.

West Entry

This locked wooden Door (DC 25 to open, Hardness 5, 20 hp) Opens to the Temple procession.

Denizens

Two Gripilli Scouts (Perception +6, Stealth +9; Bestiary 2 pg. 139) are milling from this level to the roof keeping watch for approaching intruders. They engage intruders with their darts on the first round. On the next round, one scout scrambles to a signal bell on the roof. If they activate the alarm, the roving guard squad on this level arrives in 1d4 rounds to reinforce them (provided they were not Killed earlier)

Tresure

Each Scout carries a dose of Spear Frog poison in addition to their standard loadout. The signal bell on the roof is a gorgeously crafted bronze bell inlaid with lapis bands carved with an Aquan Script; ɥirā ân jeng zhuy zhuyûnuē (The Watch Protects the Earth While the Giant Sleeps) worth about 12 GP
