Paizo has released their playtest for Starfinder 2e. I will use the new setting to convert elements into my derivative setting for a West Marches campaign.
An ancient civilization created your body, and your anatomy is forged from obsolete technology that continues to function through a combination of enduring nanites and your own willpower.
Ancient Warrior Android Android Heritage
Your body was initially forged for combat, likely created to function as a security officer or soldier. Your synthetic and organic components are optimized for battle, and you possess intrinsic tactical ability regardless of your current disposition. You’re trained in all simple and martial weapons.
Society
Ancient Warrior Androids, with their combat training and tactical abilities, would likely fill roles in society that require strength, strategy, and a degree of authority. They could be:
Security Personnel or Law Enforcement: Their combat skills and tactical minds would make them ideal for maintaining order and protecting civilians.
Military Soldiers: They could serve in armies, utilizing their training and strategic thinking to achieve victory.
Bodyguards or Protectors: Their strength and combat prowess would make them excellent personal protectors for important individuals.
Peacekeepers or Mediators: In situations of conflict, their objective nature and combat training could help to de-escalate tensions and enforce peace.
However, their artificial nature and potential for great strength might also lead to societal concerns. There could be a fear of them becoming too powerful or being used for malicious purposes. Therefore, it would be crucial to establish ethical guidelines and regulations for their creation and use.
Ancient Polyglot Androids in Adventuring
Reawakening and Rediscovery: The android awakens after a long period of dormancy, perhaps in a forgotten tomb or a crashed spaceship. They have no memory of their past or purpose, and must set out to discover their origins and their place in the world. This journey could lead them to ancient ruins, forgotten battlefields, or encounters with other remnants of their lost civilization.
The Call to Arms: The android receives a distress signal or a cryptic message that triggers a dormant protocol within their programming. They feel compelled to respond to this call, leading them on a quest to a distant planet or a hidden location. This could involve battling ancient enemies, reactivating dormant defenses, or protecting innocent lives.
The Lost Legacy: The android learns of a hidden cache of ancient technology or weapons that could be used for good or evil. They must race against time to find this legacy before it falls into the wrong hands, leading to a thrilling adventure filled with danger, intrigue, and moral choices.
The Gladiator Arena: The android's combat skills and tactical prowess make them a prime candidate for the gladiatorial arenas of a distant world. They could be forced to fight for their freedom, earn a fortune, or uncover a sinister plot within the arena's organization.
The Bounty Hunter's Target: The android's unique nature and abilities make them a target for a ruthless bounty hunter. They must evade capture while trying to uncover the reasons behind the bounty, leading them on a chase across the galaxy.
The Ancient Enemy: An ancient enemy of the android's creators resurfaces, threatening to wreak havoc on the galaxy. The android, with their knowledge of ancient tactics and weaponry, becomes a key player in the fight against this menace.
Legacy Guard Officer 1
These imposing figures, clad in remnants of ancient armor and wielding both traditional and technologically advanced weaponry, are Ancient Warrior Androids repurposed for modern peacekeeping.
Once protectors of a long-lost civilization, these androids have been awakened from dormancy and integrated into society. Their combat training, tactical minds, and unwavering sense of duty make them ideal for maintaining order and safeguarding the populace.
Despite their imposing presence, Legacy Guards are known for their stoic demeanor and unwavering professionalism. They execute their duties with efficiency and precision, their artificial minds unclouded by emotion or prejudice. While some citizens may find their synthetic nature unsettling, most appreciate the sense of security they provide.
