Style Meets Survival; Travel Suit

"Protection doesn't have to look like a tank. Sometimes, the best defense is looking like you own the place."
Sales pitch, Consortium Armory Catalog

While heavy plate and power armor dominate the battlefields of the Frontier, the Consortium Travel Suit rules the corridors of power in the Inner Sphere. Initially designed for the Commission's high-level executives, this suit has found a market among smugglers, spies, and elite mercenaries who value discretion.

Outwardly, it appears as a high-quality, tailored business suit or formal coat, utilizing advanced "smart-fabric" that stiffens on impact to disperse kinetic energy. Hidden beneath the lapels and lining are micro-shield generators and bio-dampeners, offering protection comparable to standard light armor without the bulk or social stigma of wearing combat gear in civilized sectors.

Key Features

  • Discrete Defense: The suit is indistinguishable from high-end fashion until it takes a hit, shimmering with a faint energy field upon impact.

  • Integrated Tech: Built-in comms, data-ports, and power cells allow the wearer to interface directly with starship consoles, security terminals, and metronome relays.

  • Status Symbol: Wearing one signals wealth and connection. In the lawless zones of the Outer Sphere, it marks you as someone with powerful friends—or a high-value target.

Travel Suits

Appearing unarmed is often a tactical advantage, but being unprotected is a fatal mistake. The Consortium Travel Suit bridges the gap between boardroom negotiation and back-alley survival. It is the preferred attire for Commission diplomats, high-ranking guild representatives, and adventurers who need to move seamlessly from a gala on the Inner Sphere to a tense standoff in the Outer Sphere.

Mechanically, this armor offers a high dexterity cap and integrated tech, making it perfect for operatives, envoys, and pilots who prioritize speed and utility over raw defense.

Adventure Hooks

  • The corrupted Shipment: A crate of "Commercial" suits intended for a Commission embassy is intercepted by the Ebon Syndicate. The suits are counterfeit, rigged to fail at a specific signal. The players must track them down before a diplomatic summit turns into a massacre.

  • Corporate Extraction: The players are hired to smuggle a defector out of a locked-down corporate arcology. The target is wearing a prototype Paragon Executive Suit that contains stolen data in its memory banks, making them a walking hard drive.

  • Fashion Statement: A Crimson Concord celebrity wants a custom, neon-glowing version of the suit for a performance in a war zone. The players need to find a way to make it flashy and bulletproof.
