Phalanx Armor is the powered heavy armor used by the Sider Stratiotes. This marvel of Hoplite engineering is a fully enclosed suit designed for frontline combat and extended operations in hazardous environments. The suit's powered exoskeleton provides incredible strength and stability, allowing the wearer to move and fight with surprising agility despite the armor's bulk. Its fully enclosed design absorbs incoming damage before it reaches the wearer.

The Left Paldron of Phalanx Armor is heavily reinforced, marked with the heraldry of the Legion that issued the armor, and nigh indestructible. The Master Armorers of a Hoplite Legion craft each "Legion Paldron" issued by the legion. The Legion Paldron houses the central processor for the armor and a retrieval beacon. The armor is effectively broken with the Legion Paldron removed. The armor’s retrieval beacon is activated if the Stratiote removes the armor outside one of the legion’s armories or if the suit no longer detects life signs of the bearer. Even when the rest of the armor is slagged, recovery of legion paldrons is a top priority for Sider Stratiote legions. The central processing unit acts as a “Black Box,” recording the deeds and accomplishments of its bearers as a historic record. The Legion Paldron of a destroyed armor is always repurposed into its successor armor as they are passed from bearer to bearer.
