"If you can see my armor, I've already failed."
— Operative Kaelen, Ebon Syndicate Ghost
Developed originally for deep-cover agents of the Ebon Syndicate, Mimic-Weave technology has since leaked to the open market. It consists of a tight-fitting, breathable polymer mesh that mimics the texture and thermal profile of the wearer's skin or undergarments.
While it lacks the heavy plating of an armored coat or the energy shields of an executive suit, Second Skin provides critical protection against lacerations, burns, and grazing shots. More importantly, it is compatible with standard armor upgrades, allowing a diplomat to wear a suit that looks like silk but hides a force field or a cloaking device.
Invisible Defense: Can be worn under ordinary clothing or disguised as a bodysuit, requiring a successful Perception check (DC varies by quality) to detect as armor.
24/7 Readiness: The breathable material prevents fatigue, allowing characters to sleep in their armor without penalty—a lifesaver during ambushes.
Customizable: Popular among Astrazoans and shape-shifters for its ability to stretch and conform to minor physical alterations.
In the Starfall Galaxy, survival often depends on what you don't show. Second Skin (marketed in-universe as the Mimic-Weave Body Suit) is the ultimate choice for operatives, socialites, and assassins who need protection without breaking cover.
Mechanically, this armor offers the highest dexterity cap of any light armor in its tier, making it ideal for characters with maxed-out agility. Its unique Comfort and Flexible traits mean it can be worn 24/7 without fatigue, ensuring you are never truly vulnerable, even when "sleeping."

The Naked Truth: The party is invited to a "no-weapons, no-armor" negotiation at a bathhouse. An assassin wearing a high-grade Mimic-Weave (Second Skin) attacks, and the players must improvise defenses against an armored foe.
The Glitch: A batch of cheap knock-off suits (sold by a shady Wildcater) starts malfunctioning, locking up and suffocating the wearers. The party must track down the distributor before more innocent buyers die.
Shape-Shifter's Secret: An Astrazoan spy hires the party to recover a custom "Paragon" suit that was stolen. The suit is calibrated to their specific shapeshifting biology, making it useless to anyone else but highly incriminating if found.
