Fly, Fools; Jet Propulsion

Lately, I have been exploring various realms of genre fiction and wondering if there was a way to crash them together in a tabletop experience. This means figuring out a way to balance unrelated effects against each other. I love Mutants and Masterminds for its ability do describe almost any character ability you can think of, so I am experimenting with M&M’s tools to work on ways to fold multiple genres together.

Jet Propulsion

The power to move via energy expulsion.

Self-Propelled Flight

Capabilities

The user can use jet propulsion, which is motion produced by passing a jet of matter or energy in the opposite direction to the direction of motion. By conservation of momentum, the moving body is propelled in the opposite direction to the jet. The jet can be a continuous stream or, especially when used by animals, pulsating.

Mechanics

Jet Propulsion empowers high-speed flight. This method of flight grants at least a third-degree flight effect; each degree of flight is worth 2 power points


Limitations

Due to high speeds, one can cause some serious damage, collateral and self. This can be mitigated if the user has intangibility and/or invulnerability.

May have difficulty in controlling the straight-line trajectory, as sudden turns are difficult.

Weak against Flight Negation.

Armory Power Core- Force Booster Boots +1 Device


Tech


The suit’s power core was designed to power jet boosters that propel the suit in flight. Converting the power of the core into raw force, the booster boots use that force to propell the suit at very high speeds.  (Flight 12)
