Adapted from Beam Emission- Superpower Wiki
Lately, I have been exploring various realms of genre fiction and wondering if there is a way to combine them in a tabletop experience. This means figuring out a way to balance unrelated effects against each other. I love Mutants and Masterminds for its ability to describe almost any character ability you can think of, so I am experimenting with M&M’s tools to work on ways to fold multiple genres together.
Beam Emission
The power to emit beams of energy/matter. Sub-power of Attack Powers
Capabilities
Users can create and project concentrated beams of energy/matter (whether organic, inorganic, objects, etc.), which can cause immense amounts of damage. The beam's size, shape, duration, and intensity can vary, partly due to the user's level of control over it, allowing for differences in precision, accuracy, and overall damage output. As such, the beam can be widened or spread over an area or shortened and compressed into a segmented projectile for more brief but precise attacks. The result of their impact could be concussive, dispersive or explosive, and depending on what the beam is composed, it can potentially induce other effects on impact such as incapacitation or movement to designated points. Additionally, these beams can potentially split or multiply into separate discharges that can move in different directions.
Applications
Concussive Beam Emission
The power to discharge beams of pure solidified energy
Elemental Beam Emission
The ability to project beams composed of elemental forces.
