This broad dagger is far more than a mere implement of war for the Geodans; it is a profound symbol of identity, legacy, and unwavering familial connection. Every Geodan receives their Clan Dagger during their naming ceremony, a sacred rite that binds them to their lineage. Ideally, this dagger is a cherished heirloom, passed down through generations from a deceased ancestor, carrying with it the echoes of their forebears' triumphs and struggles. When an ancestral dagger is unavailable, a new one is meticulously forged from metals salvaged from implements deeply significant to family members – perhaps a piece of a parent's mining tool, a fragment of a grandparent's starship hull, or a component from a sibling's cherished automaton. This bespoke creation ensures that no two Clan Daggers are ever truly alike, each bearing unique patterns, subtle material compositions, and an inherent connection to its owner's personal history.

Beyond its function as a weapon, the Clan Dagger is often imbued with intricate, subtle technological or Mana-based properties, making it a versatile tool in a Geodan's daily life. These daggers frequently serve as biometric keys for ancestral vaults, unlocking hidden chambers and secure data archives, or as specialized interfaces to operate complex Geodan starships and industrial machinery. Losing or having to surrender a Clan Dagger is considered a profound embarrassment and a deep personal affront, as it represents a severance from one's heritage and a failure to protect the very essence of their family's enduring legacy.

Traits

  • Agile: The multiple attack penalty you take with this weapon on the second attack on your turn is –4 instead of –5, and –8 instead of –10 on the third and subsequent attacks in the turn.

  • Archaic: This weapon is crafted using traditional methods and materials but is not suitable for striking modern armor. All weapons from the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game have the archaic trait. Weapon runes (GM Core 236) function normally with archaic weapons

  • Parry: This weapon can be used defensively to block attacks. While wielding this weapon, if your proficiency with it is trained or better, you can spend a single action to position your weapon defensively, gaining a +1 circumstance bonus to AC until the start of your next turn.

  • Versatile: A versatile weapon can deal a different type of damage than that listed in the Damage entry. This trait indicates the alternate damage type. For instance, a piercing weapon that is versatile S can be used to deal piercing or slashing damage. You choose the damage type each time you make an attack.

Critical Specialization Effects

Certain feats, class features, weapon runes, and other effects can grant you additional benefits when you make a Strike with certain weapons and get a critical success. This is called a critical specialization effect. The exact effect depends on which weapon group your weapon belongs to, as listed below. You can always decide not to add the critical specialization effect of your weapon.

  • Knife: The target takes 1d6 persistent bleed damage. You gain an item bonus to this bleed damage equal to the weapon’s bonus to attack rolls.
