Authorized Rituals; Minor Temporal Clearance

Though ordinary citizens rarely access the Guild’s deeper mysteries, anyone with a modicum of reputation may request sanctioned temporal magics. In bustling metropolises, minor spells—preservation charms, time-marking sigils, or chronomantic repairs—are purchased for modest fees, with certified Guild mages performing public rituals in transparent viewing chambers. Guild protocol ensures spells are strictly regulated, and all services leave a magical audit trail.

Boons represent actionable benefits from faction reputation. For the Ignored tier, the Chronologists Guild grants Minor Temporal Clearance—a license to request basic spellcasting services at any guild office or sanctioned research outpost. This boon is the first step in accessing the Guild’s expertise in temporal manipulation and chronomancy in the Starfall Galaxy.

Frequency: Once per Mission

Effect:  You gain the right to request minor spellcasting services from the Chronologists Guild at official facilities. Available spells are limited by local supply, Guild law, and ritual scrutiny. Permitted spells include common effects up to 2nd level (e.g., mending, comprehend languages, restore senses, read omens). Junior Guild mages perform all services under visible ritual conditions, and a receipt of service is logged.

You may choose one permitted spell and present your case to the Guild scribe. On success (typically a DC 15 Diplomacy, Occultism, or Society check), your spell is cast in the next available slot (usually within 4 hours).

Critical Success: the service is expedited, the fee is waived, or the mage volunteers extra guidance regarding temporal hazards.

Success: the service is performed.

Failure: The request is denied until the next mission or after additional scrutiny; the fee is forfeited.

Critical Failure: may result in Guild suspicion, added scrutiny for future requests, or minor social penalties.

Special: Service availability is subject to Guild policies and local magical laws. Requests for combat magics or ongoing magical effects require higher reputation or security clearance. Repeated use without building reputation may result in bureaucratic delays or fees.

Minor Temporal Clearance opens the door to the Chronologists Guild’s sanctioned spellcasting—useful for repairs, translation, and investigating minor cosmic anomalies. Adventurers are encouraged to respect Guild protocols and build reputation for greater magical privileges.
