Trusted Allies for Critical Assignments
When a mission calls for true expertise, the Guild selects an Expert from its roster—someone with a proven track record in temporal anomalies, magitech engineering, high-stakes negotiation, or cosmic research. These professionals are respected, well-equipped, and prepared to handle dangers, advise teams, and advance the cause of the Chronologists.
Building deeper reputation within the Chronologists Guild unlocks access to accomplished professionals: seasoned ritualists, advanced technicians, and senior investigators. “Expert Assistance” enables characters to hire an Expert (CR 4–8) as a mission companion, supporting complex challenges and cosmic investigations with the Guild’s full trust and authority.

Faction: Chronologists Guild (This Boon can be purchased multiple times with separate factions; each faction offers its own initiates)
Reputation Tier: Admired (15 to 30 Favor)
Cost: 12 Favor, Companions are also paid Wages
Frequency: Once per Mission
Duration: One Mission
Effect: You may contract one Expert Guild companion (CR 4–8) for a mission.
Chronomancer: Offers advanced magical support, ritual casting, and field problem-solving tools.
Magitech Engineer: Masters technological and chronomantic devices, repairs, upgrades, and tactical deployment (+4 circumstance bonus to complex Engineering or Ritual checks).
Temporal Investigator: Excels at research, negotiation, contradiction resolution, and multi-system analysis; assists vividly in social, lore, or cosmic skill challenges.
Guild Spokesperson: Guides party through official channels, provides insight during parley, diplomacy, or political missions.
Experts function as dedicated NPCs, follow party direction, and may take independent action. They are not disposable for combat—injury, loss, or neglect incurs reputation consequences and possible future restrictions.
Special: Missions resulting in the death, corruption, or misuse of the expert provoke guild investigation and potential sanction. Repeat utilization may require story/music upgrade or additional favor cost.
Expert Assistance links the PCs to the living fabric of the Guild’s talent, offering powerful support while reinforcing campaign accountability and resource management.
