The Children of Men; Terran Survivor Human

Terran Survivor Human Human Heritage

Your ancestors lived on Terra, and though the precise circumstances of their survival are lost to time, you strongly identify with the lost planet's culture. You become trained in Terran Lore, and you learn a bonus language that was spoken in your lineage's region of origin. You have familiarity with archaic weapons and, for purposes of proficiency, treat one archaic weapon of your choice that's a martial weapon as a simple weapon, or that's an advanced weapon as a martial weapon.

Terran Survivors in Adventuring

Here are a few hooks that would appeal to a Terran Survivor Player Character, playing on their unique heritage and connection to a lost past:

  • Echoes of Terra: The PC stumbles upon a fragmented data log or an ancient Terran artifact that hints at a hidden colony or a forgotten truth about Terra's demise. This could lead them on a quest to uncover more about their lost homeworld, potentially putting them at odds with factions who wish to keep Terran history buried.

  • The Archaic Arsenal: A powerful, unique archaic weapon, perhaps one of Terran origin, is rumored to exist. The PC, with their familiarity with such weapons, is uniquely positioned to seek it out, but its discovery could draw unwanted attention from collectors, military organizations, or even entities tied to Terra's past.

  • Gene-Mod Legacy: The PC discovers they possess a dormant gene-mod, a remnant of Terran genetic engineering. Activating or understanding this mod could grant them new abilities but might also connect them to a secret Terran project, a forgotten lineage, or even a faction seeking to control or exploit these genetic enhancements.

  • Protectors of the Past: A group dedicated to preserving or rediscovering Terran culture and history reaches out to the PC, recognizing their strong connection to the lost planet. This could involve protecting ancient Terran sites, recovering historical data from hostile forces, or even acting as a cultural ambassador for their forgotten people.

  • Temporal Displacement: The PC encounters individuals or even an entire settlement that has been temporally displaced from a different era of Terran history due to a Rift anomaly. Their knowledge of Terran Lore could be invaluable in helping these displaced people, or perhaps the PC themselves experiences a temporal ripple, connecting them directly to a past event.
