Remote Operation; Tools of the Trade

Remote Operation Feat 2

You’ve learned how to operate machines from a distance by interfacing with your exocortex. You can use a hacking toolkit to operate a vehicle, and you don’t need to be inside the vehicle to Drive it. You can remotely operate a vehicle or other machine you can see within 30 feet at the GM’s discretion

Rig jockeys and exocortex hackers are infamous for ghost-riding vessels or puppeteering warbots from afar. You’ve integrated outlaw comm code, Riftwave relays, or scavenged guild firmware into your exocortex—allowing seamless, distance-spanning control over sophisticated tech.

You can now use your hacking toolkit—plugged directly into your custom rig or exocortex uplink—to remotely operate a vehicle or machine within 30 feet, provided you can see it. You don’t need to be in a vehicle or at a console to Drive or manipulate it; virtual control overlays and neural command-pulses let you accelerate, steer, or even trigger onboard systems at a thought. The local node’s range and machine’s security dictate your limits, and GM discretion always applies—but in the void or the sprawl, a true Starfall Mechanic is rarely out of reach of clever sabotage or instant escapes.
