An Infosphere Director doesn't shout orders—they feed data. And when they issue Digital Assessment!, they're not just analyzing the enemy. They're hacking the fight itself.
You see it in the combat telemetry: The Envoy's fingers dance across a datapad. Sensors ping. Databases cross-reference. Three seconds later, every squadmate's HUD lights up with tactical overlays—weak points highlighted in red, attack vectors calculated in blue, optimal defensive positioning marked in gold.
"Target designation: Alpha. Scanning... synthetic endoskeleton detected. Armor classification: Delta-7, exploitable by armor-piercing rounds. Broadcasting defensive parameters—maintain spacing, use cover protocols Gamma through Epsilon. Engaging."
The Envoy doesn't just tell you the enemy is dangerous—they quantify it, categorize it, and tell you exactly how to not die. And when they fire their own shot? That's not just an attack. That's a diagnostic probe. The shot hits, sensors analyze the impact data, and suddenly the enemy's tech systems start glitching—servos seizing, targeting systems flickering, neural implants misfiring.
Faction Expressions
Commission Intelligence Corps analysts use Digital Assessment! to coordinate combined-arms operations. They cross-reference enemy profiles against military databases in real-time: "Target confirmed: Vesk Shock Trooper, armor class Delta-7. Recommendation: Concentrate plasma fire on joint seams. Defensive posture: maintain minimum 15-foot spacing to avoid AoE saturation."
Chronologists Guild archivists deliver Digital Assessment! by comparing current threats against centuries of historical data. A Chronologist might scan a temporal anomaly creature and immediately pull up three similar encounters from 200 years ago, 50 years in the future, and an alternate timeline: "Creature identified: paradox predator, epsilon classification. Historical countermeasures: sonic disruption, temporal anchoring. Defensive protocol: avoid direct eye contact—memetic hazard confirmed."
Ebon Syndicate network operators run Digital Assessment! through shadownet databases, cross-referencing targets against bounties, contracts, and underworld intelligence: "Target scanned: augmented enforcer, Syndicate mark Beta-9. Known vulnerabilities: cybernetic left arm, electromagnetic interference susceptibility. Tactical note: worth more alive—non-lethal capture authorized."
Outer Sphere scavenger crews rely on Digital Assessment! to identify salvageable tech and exploitable weaknesses in hostile scavengers or rogue machines: "Hostile identified: salvage-bot, jury-rigged power core. Structural weakness: coolant lines exposed. Defensive advisory: maintain distance—self-destruct protocols likely active."
Viridian Ascent bio-coordinators use Digital Assessment! to analyze organic and hybrid threats through bio-digital interfaces: "Organism scanned: symbiotic predator, bio-tech integration detected. Weakness: vulnerable to radiation at cellular level. Defensive posture: avoid close quarters—infectious spores detected in respiratory system."
Digital Assessment! is the signature directive of the Infosphere Director leadership style—and the only Envoy directive in Starfinder 2e that directly combines Recall Knowledge with combat benefits. Where Get 'Em! marks targets for attack bonuses and Keep on Keeping On! amplifies healing, Digital Assessment! weaponizes information itself.
Digital Assessment Directive
[one-action] to [two-actions]
Source Player Core pg. 105
A quick check of your records and local infospheres lets you quickly disseminate information to your allies. Choose a creature within 100 feet and Recall Knowledge about the target. When you succeed at identifying your target with Recall Knowledge, you note a resistance or immunity in the creature's defenses in addition to any other benefits.
Lead by Example
If you used two actions, you strike the target. You and your allies gain a +1 circumstance bonus to AC against attacks made by the target until the start of your next turn. If the target has the tech trait, it must attempt a Fortitude save against your class DC. On a failure, the target becomes glitching 1. The target is then immune to Digital Assessment for 1 hour.
Digital Assessment! is the thinking Envoy's directive—a tool that rewards Intelligence investment, tactical analysis, and information warfare. Where other directives rely on charisma and inspiration, Digital Assessment! weaponizes knowledge itself, converting database queries and sensor scans into real-time tactical advantages.
In Starfall's tech-saturated battlefields, information is power. And an Infosphere Director wielding Digital Assessment! doesn't just know more than the enemy—they use that knowledge to dismantle them, one glitched system and one defensive parameter at a time.
When you issue Digital Assessment!, you're not just analyzing an enemy. You're rewriting the tactical equation in real-time, turning raw data into survival and intelligence into victory.
Know your enemy. Broadcast their weaknesses. Watch them glitch.
