In the Galaxy’s Emptiest Corridors
The black between suns isn’t emptiness for you—it’s the one place that feels like home. While others eye Rift hazards and pirate beacons with dread, you read them as an experienced nomad dissects a map: every pulse of Rift radiation, every battered hulk, every guild checkpoint is a memory and a route for tomorrow’s trade, escape, or rescue.
Whether you hail from a scavenger crew, a Rift-hardened courier, or a guild blockade-runner, you’ve learned to trust your instincts, your shipmates, and the practiced alertness needed to survive jump after jump. Starfall’s interstellar culture is written on your skin—guild tattoos, lucky charms, battered credsticks, and half-forgotten stories added at every port of call.
Life in the Rift: Exposure to the twisted physics of Rift-Space marks every true spacefarer. You might have tricks for avoiding Rift storms, rerouting stuttered signals, or hiding from the entities that drift among the anomalies.
Guild Influence: Most spacefarers have worked for—if not run afoul of—guild brokers, drifter unions, or black market shipwrights. Guild contacts are both lifeline and leash in Starfall’s tangled economy.
Nomad Culture: Legends, cant, and sign-languages unique to free-flyers bounce from cockpit to corridor. Maybe you’ve carved your own code into a bulkhead or traded a song for passage somewhere no map records.
Ruin and Renewal: For every lost cause (a ship left broken in the drift, a crewmate claimed by the void), you’ve found purpose: carrying cargo, smuggling relics, or keeping a crew together when time, trust, and credits grow thin.
Spacefarer Background
Choose two attribute boosts. One must be to Dexterity or Constitution, and one is a free attribute boost.
You're trained in the Piloting skill, and the Rift Lore skill. You gain the Express Driver skill feat.
